Last month, I set off on a quest. Yes, forsooth, a quest for a new pair of shoes. My everyday shoes, a scuffed up pair of black Born shoes, were way past being embarrassing, so I headed off to DSW to pick up a pair (or two).
Two hours later, I came home. Without shoes. After trying on at least 30 pairs. I was annoyed and frustrated, but after thinking long and hard about my “shoe issues” (of which there are plenty), I decided that my main problem is that I can’t hack the current shoe trends. Tall boots…ballet flats…it just doesn’t suit this thick ankled, too-muscular calved girl.
A week later, I went shopping with my sister, and she suggested that I look at Dansko shoes. She is a nurse practitioner, and she told me that they are a big deal for people who are on their feet all the time and are super comfortable. So we found a store that sold them, and after explaining to the salesperson that no, I’m not a nurse or a teacher, but yes, I would like to try on a pair, I slipped my feet into my first pair of Danskos.
I was surprised how supportive AND comfortable they were. Shockingly so, actually. I could wiggle my toes…I felt like I could walk for hours…and they were really cute. And yes, I have been wearing them constantly ever since! What do you think?
Thanks Sis for helping me move past my battered Born shoes…my feet thank you! And thanks to The Diaper Diaries for inspiring this “Things I Love Thursday” post!
Knew you would love ’em!!!
Very cute! I’ve been tempted to check these out…
They are definitely Shoes with a capital S…and I think they might just last forever…:)
