For Father’s Day weekend, we decided to take the plunge and go camping with the kids for the first time. We were definitely nervous, especially because we were using a borrowed pop-up camper, but it was…easier…than I expected. Not easy…just easier. But the best part was making memories with the kiddos…and the gift of having a weekend away from the everyday…

Nice pictures!! Looks like you had fun!! Guess now you’ll have to go again–let us know when you want to sign up for round 2!
Thanks Wendi – it was a lot of fun…but it might be a little while before we head out into the “wild” again! 🙂
Ah, those pictures bring back so many memories – Little Sable lighthouse, the dunes…we used to go there every summer when I was your kids’ ages. So much fun to be had there. Did you happen to rent those 4 wheel bikes with the bench??? I always wondered if they still had them around.
No, we didn’t do any biking or dune buggy riding…maybe next time. I’m curious though – the park where the lighthouse was seemed really new – was there always a little park/beach area? The kids really wanted to swim in the water, so we might have to go back there when the water is a little more tolerable…
I remember there being a little beach area, but nothing else…it seemed quiet & remote back then.
Oh, it’s much more “finished” off now – parking lot, little bathrooms, park area around the lighthouse, and you have to pay to get in unless you have the “recreational pass”…
