Shiny and New…

For Valentines Day, Ben gave me a gift certificate to Design 1 Day Spa so that I could get a moisturizing treatment for my extra dry skin. (thanks to my Cherne genes) It probably comes as no surprise that I just used it…three months later…who has the time…but my dry skin didn’t go anywhere, so it was just as worth it.

I thought I was going to get a moisturizing masque, but after talking to my spa person (I know there is a fancy name for it, but I can’t think of it right now) she suggested getting a sea salt body scrub. Didn’t really sound like the most relaxing thing in the world…getting a couple layers of skin scrubbed off, but she said it would be fine and wouldn’t hurt or anything. So, I agreed.

Did it hurt? It wasn’t bad…kinda relaxing actually. It did hurt on my shins, but I think she gave that area special attention because I told her that the skin was pretty dry on my legs.

So, I was lying there while she was finishing up exfoliating my face, and I started thinking…how am I going to get all of this gritty stuff off of me? My question was soon answered with a glorious long hot shower with a generous dose of lotion afterwards. It was nice because I was the last person in the spa, so there was no one around and I could take as long as I wanted. Usually, I have Parker peeking his head around the shower curtain and throwing all the bath toys into the bathtub while I’m trying to wash my hair, so this was much better.

The end result? Nice smooth skin…ahhh…just in time for warmer weather. Definitely worth the wait!
