I keep running into people who are talking about resolutions…aspirations…task lists…
They are everywhere…and I so want to be part of that list. I want to aspire to amazing accomplishments. I want to do big things. I want to leap buildings with a single bound. I want to have a plan.
But when I write my own list? It ends up being a messy glob of impossibility. And honestly, many of my aspirations from the last few years would still make the list, because I either never got around to it or I started…and never finished.
So this year, I want to aspire to “finishing”. Impressive, eh?
I want to finish…
Complete the scrapbooks from my kids first year of life. (Yeah. Still not done.)
Move into a new house. (Okay, we are going to start and finish it this year…but we have been talking about it forever.)
Move my blog to its own domain. (Bought the domain…but that’s it.)
Finish the writing project I started with my father-in-law. (Just do it, Rachel!)
Lose the rest of my baby weight. (It’s less than 10 pounds, for heavens sakes.)
Transfer all our mini-DVD tapes to DVD. (Maybe I’ll outsource that one.)
Self-Publish the manuscript I wrote for the e-book contest. (It’s written already…just need illustrations.)
Aargh. I’m already going off the deep end. Did I say I was “aspiring” to these things?
It’s a start. A start to “focus on finishing”. Oooohh…sounds like a good domain name. Nope, already taken, but “focused finishing.com” is available. SEE!! There I go again – trying to start more…do more…be more.
Focus, Rachel.
Finish.
You can do anything you put your mind to! Prayers for a fruitful 2012!
Thanks Taylor!
You should talk to Sam about the illustrations.
Do you think he would be interested?
