Just a few snippets from our life that makes me shake my head and say “Where did they come up with that?”
The background…Parker continues to be obsessed with the color orange…and recently, with wearing Diego underwear over his diaper. Yes, it is true!
Enter the story….yesterday, Madi had to go to the bathroom while we were shopping at Michaels, and of course, Parker wanted to go too. Unfortunately, his diaper was wet, so I pull up his little undies and figure I’ll pop a new diaper on after we get back to the cart which was with my Mom. Well, I forget…and 10 minutes later, his shorts are drenched and I have no backups. Parker took it in stride, having to walk around with just a diaper, but ONLY after I promised he could wear his orange shorts when we got home…and he did NOT forget!
Madi? Well, her ideas always come fast and furious, and yesterday was no different. She spent a good chunk of the morning narrating her every move…seriously! I told her to get in the car, and she proceeds to say to herself, “I climb into the back seat of the car, so I can get buckled in to be safe…” It was the goofiest thing…maybe we have an author or perhaps a screenwriter on our hands?
Later in the day, they were playing “airplane”, which involves strategically placed dining room chairs and lots of packed up supplies. This time, Madi was the pilot AND the stewardess…I guess she put it on autopilot while she brought us food? Parker was a passenger as usual. He strapped himself into his booster seat for the trip to “bathtime”, rocking back and forth during the turbulence and repeating everything Madi and my Mom (another passenger) said. It was too cute.
