Madi has continued to develop quite a vocabulary, which can result in some pretty funny statements…here are a few examples…
Last week, Madi got in trouble for throwing a fit over what shirt she was going to wear that day…the result? I picked out her shirt…no choice. I left the room to go get Fiona up and dressed for the day and Madi comes trotting in, still crying…
Me: “I’m not going to change my mind, Madi, you are going to wear the shirt I picked out.”
Madi: “But Mommy, can you just please show me some mercy?”
(Really, what can you say to that? Can I really deny my child mercy?)
This one has happened several times…Parker will do something to get Madi upset, like smack her on the back for no reason. Her response?
Madi: “Parker…you do not hit Sissy…that is NOT appropriate!!”
Parker: “Huh?” (and usually proceeds to smack her again)
Just tonight, the kids were in the bathtub and I had just put shampoo on their hair. Madi started to scrub her own hair with one hand and Parker’s hair with the other. Her explanation was…
Madi: “Look Mommy…I’m multitasking!”
(I asked her what multitasking meant and she told me it was “doing two things at the same time” and that Daddy taught her about it when he would scrub her hair while she scrubbed Parker’s hair. I guess it stuck!)
You really can’t make this stuff up!
Rachel:
Kids are just great aren’t they.
It never stops.
Love,
Dad
So…you mean we still say goofy things even as adults?? 🙂 Thanks for the comment, Dad!
