Madi: Excuse me, I have a question? (raising her hand)
Me: Yes, honey?
Madi: How does snow melt?
Me: It gets warmer and then the snow turns into water…(obviously struggling, but at least able to spit out more than when she asked how plastic was made)
Ben: Well, water is an element and it can take different forms – a solid, like ice or snow, a liquid, like water, or a gas. (sensing confusion, he took another angle) It is like…poopie. It can be a gas, like a toot, or a solid, like a normal poopie, or a liquid if you have the runs.
Me: (laughing hysterically) Ah, good analogy…you will have to tell your science teacher that someday, Madi!
Madi: I have to go to the bathroom now! (dashing off to the bathroom)
Ah ha ha ha ha ha ha!Way to go Ben! I’m tucking this one away for future reference! 🙂
That’s great! I love that analogy!
that is hilarious! i would die laughing if a student ever told me that! 🙂
