Alone Time…
Alone Time…

Alone Time…

I was in a training seminar this morning, and when I told the person sitting next to me that I was planning on going shopping afterwards, he asked if I was going to meet up with a friend, because “wouldn’t that be more enjoyable”. I literally started laughing…and answered with a resounding…No!

Now I realize I just rejected my entire circle of friends, but as a Mom, alone time is a precious commodity. What about nap time, do you say? Doesn’t count. Even when they are sleeping, I always have one ear open to if they are waking up. Just doesn’t cut it.

So, I am going shopping. By myself. I am going to get my post-nursing body measured at Victoria’s Secret, and I am going to browse the shelves at Barnes & Noble and maybe even stop to look at a few pages. I am going to shop for non-stretched out spring clothes at Old Navy, and I’m going to buy a pair of jeans that aren’t about to wear through at the knees. I’m going to buy myself a treat that I don’t have to share, and I’m going to love every minute of it.

I’ll probably also miss my kids & husband…so I’ll head home to give them hugs and make dinner, but the next few hours? They are all mine.
